The plentiful complexity of the Hindu Gods, Goddesses and Avatars is remarkable. Briefly as follows are some of the best known with their corresponding attributes.

Brahma is the creator god, responsible for the creation of the universe and all beings.

Vishnu is the preserver god, responsible for maintaining cosmic order and restoring balance.

Shiva is the destroyer god, responsible for the destruction of the old to make way for the new, often associated with asceticism and meditation.

Ganesha is the elephant-headed God, son of Shiva and Parvati. Ganesha is best known as the remover of obstacles and the bringing of good fortune.

Agni is the god of fire, associated with the Vedic era and the sun, thunder, and fire on earth.

Indra is the god of the heavens, associated with thunder and rain.

Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, art, music and wisdom and wife of Brahma and often depicted as a peaceful figure seated on a lotus flower.​

Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, good fortune, and prosperity, wife of Vishnu and often worshipped during important festivals like Diwali.

Parvati is the goddess of love, devotion, and fertility, and the wife of Shiva.

Durga is a powerful goddess associated with protection, strength, and war, often depicted riding a tiger or lion.

Kali is powerful goddess associated with time, change, creation, power, destruction, and death.

Krishna is an important avatar of Vishnu, known for his wisdom and divine playfulness.

Rama is another revered avatar of Vishnu known for his righteousness and devotion.
